Feeling beautiful means feeling powerful. When you feel good in your skin, it shows. You begin radiating positive energy, which can be very inspirational to others. Here’s a couple of tips to expand your beauty knowledge.
Sunscreen is imperative
We all know that leaving the house without slapping on sunscreen on a hot summer’s day is a big no-no. However, just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you should skip sunscreen. The truth is, sunscreen should be used year-round. This is because UV rays are always present, regardless of the season in question. When your skin is exposed to UVA and UVB rays without proper protection, they can cause damage to your skin, accelerate skin aging, and increase your chances of getting skin cancer. That last one alone is scary enough to make us reach for our summer staple immediately. For everyday wear, a sunscreen with SPF 15 to 30 is your safe bet.
Exfoliation is essential
There are so many benefits that come with giving your face and body a good scrub that makes us wonder why we’re not doing it on a regular basis. While many of us are guilty of skipping exfoliation during our skincare routine, you don’t want to over-exfoliate either. Exfoliating your skin too often (or worse, daily) can lead to inflammation and redness. It can also make your skin look rashy and damage it significantly. Exfoliating two to three times per week is just enough, according to skincare experts.
Prevent split ends with regular trimming
We know this sounds the opposite of what you’d expect, but regular trimming is essential if you want your hair to be healthy and sans split ends. When ends are damaged, they tend to split and break off easier. If you don’t trim your hair, those split ends just keep splitting up the strand, damaging your hair even more. When trying to grow out your hair, remember to trim your ends on a regular basis. Of course, don’t trim more than you’re growing. Going for a trim once every two months for dusting should suffice, leaving you with great hair and healthy ends.
Hair extensions are your best friend
Hair is one of the first things people notice on a woman, and a good hair day can give a significant boost to a woman’s self-confidence. And who else to turn to for hair tips than the Russian women? Known for their gorgeous and voluminous hair, they use it as their secret beauty weapon. For those of us with fine hair, we can get the same wavy, bouncy hair by relying on quality Russian hair extensions. They’re great for adding length in an instant, and they’re perfect for when you want to look good for an event, or when you simply want to experiment a bit while growing your hair out. And because they’re so easy to use and maintain, hair extensions can easily become your best friend.
Cheat your way to the perfect cat eye
It takes a lot of practice to be able to draw the gorgeous cat eye in an instant, but for those of us who don’t necessarily want to spend the time mastering the look, we can simply cheat our way to it. The trick is quite simple, really – you’ll need to get a good, precise liquid eyeliner and a post-it note. Place the post-it on the outer corner of your eye and adjust it until you get the preferred angle and length. Start by drawing the line along the edge of a post-it note from the outer corner of the eye. Then, draw the line in the opposite direction – towards the eye. Peel off the post-it, and voila – you are all set!
Enjoy looking like you
Many of us have wished at some point that they could look like an Insta model or our favorite beauty blogger. We’ve all tried copying them, but after a while, it becomes tiring. And after that happens, you begin to realize just how beautiful your own features are and you start embracing them. You begin to enjoy looking like yourself, and this gives you the courage and the freedom to experiment, not just with makeup and hair, but also with clothes. That’s when you’re able to define your own beauty standards, whether it’s turning comfortable into fashionable by wearing comfy sneakers with everything, or rocking a bedhead and pajama pants in public.
When you look your best, you feel invincible. You feel ready to take on the day and see what challenges it brings. Feeling beautiful is almost like a superpower. The best part? Everyone has this superpower at their disposal – you just have to discover yours. Start by applying these tips and see where it takes you.
